Raritan's Statement on the RoHS Directive

On February 13, 2003, the European Union adopted Directive 2002/95/EC (download PDF).  The Directive (RoHS), restricts and prohibits the use of various heavy metals (cadmium, hexavalent chromium, lead and mercury), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) in new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market after July 1, 2006.

The newest RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, some call “RoHS 2.0” (download PDF), was published on 2011/7/1 and requests that all products shipped to Europe which are in RoHS 2.0 restricted categories must be compliant with after 2013/1/2.
